Be careful with vague or recycled claims
A journal website that says only 'indexed in major databases' without naming the database, the exact title, or the ISSN should be treated as unverified. The same applies to logos that appear without a matching record on the source database.
Some sites also mix publisher names, change journal titles without clear history, or present ISSNs that do not match the record they claim. These are all signals to pause and verify manually.
- No database link or source record
- ISSN mismatch between the journal site and the database
- Unclear publisher identity or recent unexplained title changes
